Elcke studied Technology Management at Eindhoven University, graduating in Operations Management & Logistics on research she did at Leuven University in Belgium and with ASML, a manufacturer of semiconductor production equipment. She coached fellow pupils at high school, was a student assistant at university and a member of the executive of a swimming and water polo club, is qualified to manage an over the counter chemist, and backpacked through Malaysia. Elcke joined OC&C in July of 2007.
